I Chronicles 13:14, “And the ark of the God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.”
In the Bible, we clearly see that the ark of God represented the presence and the blessings of God. When Israel had it, they would be blessed, and they would be victorious in their battles. When they did not have, they would see defeat. That is why the ark of God was so important to them–because it represented the presence of God.
God’s presence should be equally valuable to us today. We should desire to have God’s presence in our lives so we can have blessings and see victories from the Lord. There are many things that come from having God’s presence in one’s life.
1. Help and Courage
Hebrews 13:5-6, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”
2. Joy and Pleasure
Psalm 16:11, “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
3. Mercy and Grace
Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
God’s presence is a must in our life. Moses told God that if God’s presence did not go with him that he didn’t want to go at all. May this be our prayer as well! May we desire God’s presence in our lives, for that is where we will find great victories and blessings.
