Jonah 3:1-3a, “And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord.”
Jonah had completely run away from God. He took a boat the opposite direction of Ninevah, but God still gave him a second chance. God still allowed Jonah to serve the Lord and preach to the city of Ninevah. Isn’t it good to know that God gives second chances? If He didn’t, none of us would be able to serve the Lord due to our mistakes.
There are many people in the Bible that made mistakes that God still used. They were sinners just like we are, and just like God was still able to use them, He is still able to use us today. God gives us grace to get over our sin our mistakes, and our past, so we can be used of God. Romans 5:20 says, “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:” Don’t think because you’ve made mistakes that God can’t use you. He most certainly can. Just remember that God’s grace and forgiveness is far greater than sin, and God gives second chances.
