Micah 7:18-19, “Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”
God truly is an amazing God! He has mercy on us when we definitely do not deserve us. The passage says that God cannot retain his anger because He delights in mercy. He has compassion on us. He casts our sin into the depths of the sin where He will no longer remember them. This is incredible. If you are like me, it is difficult to forget what someone does when they wrong you. Even if you forgive them and move on, the hurt they caused is still in the back of your mind whether or not it still bothers you. But with God, He pardons our sins to never be remembered. I love the song, “What sins are you talking about?” God forgets our sin because He delights in mercy. Let us never forget how great a God we have, and He deserves our best!
