The Lord Will be the Hope of His People

Joel 3:16, “The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.”

One thing that the world seems to be searching for is hope. What is hope? Hope is, “A feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.” The world tries to find hope in many things, but nothing can truly satisfy that empty void. As Christians though, we have hope. Our hope is in the Lord. I Timothy 1:1 says, “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope.” Jesus is our hope. No matter how bad the world gets, we can place our hope in Jesus. We know that one day, we will live forever with Him. We know that in the end, Jesus will be victorious.

Possessing this hope, we have the responsibility to give it to others. So many are searching. Sadly, they just do not know what they are searching for. We can provide them with the answer to their hopelessness, and that is through Jesus Christ. Christian, no matter what you are going through, just remember that there is hope.
