Hate the Evil and Love the Good

Amos 5:15, “Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.”

What a positive difference there would be in this world if people would just learn to hate evil and love good. It seems that this world today is all about hating the good and loving the evil. When someone takes a stand for what is right, they are mocked, railed on, and put down. However, when someone takes a stand for something that is wrong, they have a whole crowd behind them backing them up. In reality though, we cannot get upset when lost people act like lost people. That is why we must do our part to be lights in this world of darkness. It is a problem though we saved people are the ones that hate the good and love the evil. It has been said that the most miserable people in this life are not lost people; it is the saved people that are living like the world because the Holy Spirit of God will not leave them alone. We need more Christians to start hating evil and start loving good. We were told in Bible college, “Young men, you need to learn to hate sin.” This doesn’t mean we hate lost people. We ought to hate the sin, but love the sinner. Let’s do our best to hate the evil and love the good in our lives.
