Jesus Yet Answered Nothing

Mark 15:3-5, “And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.”

Jesus went through probably the greatest torture than any man has ever gone through, and he didn’t deserve one second of it. He did it all out of love. He did it so we can spend eternity with Him in Heaven and never have to go to Hell. To me, it is incredible that through all the false accusations and the beatings that Jesus answered nothing.

I am not sure about you, but if someone accuses me of something I didn’t do, I get defensive. I want them to know that I didn’t do it because I do not want to face the consequences of something I didn’t do. Jesus could have stopped it all at anytime. The Bible says he could have called 12 legions of angels to come down. A legion is about 6,000. He could have called 72,000 angels to come down and put a stop to everything, but He didn’t because He loves us. I am glad that Jesus did what He did. I am glad He answered nothing. I am glad He didn’t put a stop to it. Never take the beatings and tortures that Jesus went through for granted. He did it out of love, so we don’t have to go to Hell. Now, let’s give back to Him by presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice for that is only reasonable after what He has done for us. Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
