I Am Not Ashamed

Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

This is the beginning of Paul’s letter the Christians that were at Rome. It is very evident through Paul’s life that he was not ashamed of the Gospel. It seemed that every chance he had to tell someone how they could be saved, he did. There was no person that was too intimidating to Paul that he wouldn’t tell them of Christ. Whether it was a jailor or a king, Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel.

It truly is amazing how great a gift Salvation and the love of God is. It is something that we do not deserve at all, but it is still offered to us. It is equally amazing in a negative fashion that Christians are ashamed to tell others of it. It has often been said that if one had the cure for cancer that they would not keep it for themselves. They would go around and tell everybody to try and save as many lives as they could. The Gospel has the potential to save everyone. They just have to be told. Many have never heard. Aren’t you glad someone took the time to tell you of Christ? I know I am. Let us not be ashamed to tell others of Christ, but let us take every opportunity that presents itself.
