That in All Things He Might Have the Preeminence

Colossians 1:18, “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”

This verse is talking about Jesus. Jesus ought to have the preeminence in all things. Preeminence means, The fact of surpassing all others; superiority.” Christ ought to have the most superior place in our lives. He ought to have first place. Everything that we do ought to have Christ as number one.

Some people live that when they are at church, Christ is first, but when they are at home, He isn’t. The verse states that in ALL THINGS, he might have the preeminence. He died to pay the debt for our sins, so we do not have to spend a second in Hell. That type of sacrifice earns first place in our lives. Let us never forget what Christ did for us. If we keep Christ’s death on the cross in the forefront of our minds, we will not be able to help but to give Christ the preeminence he deserves. Let us do our best each and every day to be able to say that in my life, Christ has the preeminence in ALL THINGS.
