I Have Fought a Good Fight

II Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

I strongly desire, and I hope you do as well, that this would be our goal in the Christian life. Paul went through a lot in his Christian life, but he was able to look back at the end and say that he had fought a good fight. I want the Lord to look at me and say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

I am a big sports fan. At the end of a game, I want to be able to look back at the end of the game and know that I gave my all. The worst is when you lose and look back at moments where you could have played harder that would have changed the outcome.

I know the Christian life is not a sporting event, but the principles can still be applied. We have to give our all the entire time for the best outcome. Let us strive to live a totally devoted life for Christ. Let us give our all each and every day for the cause of Christ, so that at the end of life I can look back and say that I have fought a good fight and I have finished my course.
