Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”‘
I had heard and read this verse many times before today, and I never really thought much of it. In all honesty, it confused me a little bit with the word “boldly.” I thought that bold meant having courage. It caused me to think, “Why is the Bible urging us to come before God with courage? Are there people that are scared to pray to God?” I began to study out the word bold and it actually means confidently (which I’m sure many of you already knew that.)
Now that we know what the verse means, are we living it? When we pray to God, are we going before Him confidently? Are we believing that God will hear and answer the prayers that we bring to Him? Matthew 21:22 says, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” I’m sure all of us would say that we believe that God hears and answers prayer, but are we truly praying like we believe it? Let us focus on coming to the Lord boldly through prayer.
