It is Appointed Unto Men Once to Die

Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Death is not something that is often thought about in relation to one’s own life, but it is definitely something that should be talked about. I feel many times that death is just kind of pushed off because of how common it is nowadays through video games, tv, news, etc. However, everything that we do in life is all about preparation for what comes after that moment of death.

We know that one day we will die. That is why we must make sure that we are saved first of all. Second of all, we must be ready for the judgment. Now, if we are saved, we will not have to face the great white throne judgment. That is only for the lost people. If we are saved, we will one day stand before the judgment seat of Christ. We will be judged based on what we did with what we are given. Romans 14:12 says, “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” We should strive each and every day to be prepared for that day that we must give account. Let us live for God with each and every breath that we take. Let us obey every spiritual impulse, so that one day when we give an account, we can be found faithful.
