Obey

Hebrews 13:17, “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”

Obedience is such a simple thing, but many times our pride makes it much more difficult than it needs to be. Many times when one is told to do something, the first reaction is, “Who are you telling me what to do?” Even in the workplace, it is difficult to find employees that will just do what they are told.

Obedience will get one far in life. One can only get so far cheating or cutting the rules. Eventually as the Bible says in Numbers 32:23, “But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against theĀ Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.” Simply obeying causes one to be noticed above others. Obedience is a personal decision that everyone must make for themselves. Obedience is always the best option, and when we mess up (which we ALL do,) swallow your pride and admit it. Let us focus today and the rest of our lives to be obedient. Let us obey God first and foremost. Secondly, we must obey those that are in authority no matter who it may be–parents, boss, laws. May our prayer be that we be obedient Christians.
