II Peter 2:5, “And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person , a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.”
As I was reading this passage of Scripture this morning, a thought popped into my head that I had never thought of before. I thought, “If I lived during Noah’s day, would God have saved me?” Would I have found grace in the sight of God? The Bible says that Noah was a preacher of righteousness. Would I have been able to stand being mocked year after year after year? Noah faced so much opposition while building the Ark, but he didn’t quit.
As this world gets worse and worse, Christians will face more and more opposition. I want to strive to be like Noah in the sense that I do not want to back down when people don’t listen and mock. Let us determine that we will live righteously. That is why Noah was spared. Noah was righteous. I know that God will never flood the earth again. He gave us that promise. Theoretically though, if a situation like this occurred, my prayer is that the Lord would spare me as a preacher of righteousness that would not back down.
