Thou Art Lukewarm

Revelation 3:15-17, “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”

The Bible says that God wants to spew lukewarm Christians out of His mouth. Lukewarm Christians disgust Him. Personally, I do not understand lukewarm Christians. I feel like it would be miserable. Sometimes doing the things of God, but still holding on to the things of this world. One would have the Holy Spirit constantly convicting them. I’ve heard it said that the most miserable people in the world are not lost people; they are the saved people that are living like lost people.

There’s nothing fun about living the life of a lukewarm Christian. Sure, one can enjoy the pleasures of sin, but only for a season. One can choose their sin, but they cannot choose their consequences. I don’t know about you, but I want to please the Father. I don’t want Him to look at me and want to spew me out of His mouth. Let us focus on not being lukewarm Christians. Let’s be Christians that are on fire for the Lord!
