I Being in the Way, the Lord Led Me

Genesis 24:27, “And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.”

Abraham sent his servant to go find a wife for Issac. Abraham told him where to look, but that was it. The servant had no idea who the right girl would be. The servant came to a well and prayed that God would direct him to the right person. Genesis 24:15 says, “And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out.”

This was a task that realistically was not very possible, but the servant accomplished what he was sent to do. He said the reason that he was able to do it was because of the Lord. He said, “I being in the way, the Lord led me.” The servant was where he was supposed to be doing what he was supposed to do, and God took care of the rest.

In life, we must stay faithful to God. We must be where we are supposed to be and do what we are supposed to do. Then, we must trust God that He will guide us in the right direction. Think of an escalator. If we want to reach the next story, we must be on the escalator. Once we take that step, the escalator will take us to the top. The same is true with God’s will. When we take a step of faith, God will lead us where we need to God. Let us focus on living in God’s will each and every day, so God can lead us where He wants us to go.
