All That the Lord Hath Said Will We Do

Exodus 24:7, “And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.”

What a mindset the children of Israel had. They were fully committed to obeying the command of the Lord.

If only Christians today had this commitment to obedient. The light of Christ would be shining so much brighter in this world. Obedience is a choice. No matter the circumstance, the choice is ultimately ours to obey. We learn a few chapters later that the Israelites didn’t stick to their commitment, and many times we fail, but that is no reason to give up. It’s a reason to renew our commitment to obeying the Lord and living for him with our life. Let us strive each and every day to do all that the Lord commands us to do. May our goal to be able to say, “All that the Lord hath said will we do.”
