Leviticus 17:5,7, “To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the Lord , unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the Lord…And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.”
As I read this morning, I asked God to give me something from the book of Leviticus. Today he gave me these verses. The children of Israel were to bring their sacrifces unto Lord. Then, verse seven says that they should no longer offer sacrifices unto the devils.
The Lord gave me this though. All of us make sacrifices throughout our life. These sacrifices can be possessions, money, time, and many more. Who or what are we making these sacrifices for? Where are sacrifices are will tell us where our heart is. Are we making sacrifices for ourselves and for our own enjoyment or are we making sacrifices for the Lord? How’s our giving? Are we giving to missions? The world does not have enough missionaries, but there are more that are trying to go. However, these missionaries need financial support. That’s a sacrifice we should be willing to make. Let’s do a personal check on our life. Where are we making our sacrifices? Let us make sure that our sacrifices are to the Lord.
