Love Him as Thyself

Leviticus 19:34, “But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”

How are we doing at loving one another? Any commandment from the Lord is important, but this commandment is given special importance. We find in Mark 12:30-31, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” Next to loving the Lord, loving our neighbor is our the most important commandment.

Many people that we come across in life may never pick up a Bible or step into a church, but the Lord still loves them. They ought to see the love of Christ through us. If you’re thinking, “Some people don’t deserve the love of Christ.” Well, in reality, none of us deserve the love of Christ, but someone showed it to us, and it forever changed our life. A Christian showing kindness and the love of Christ to a lost person could potentially alter their future. Let us find someone today to whom we can show the love of Christ.
