Be Strong and of a Good Courage

Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

There are so many good truths found in this one verse. The children of Israel were about to cross over into the promised land. The promised land would not be a place of rest. It would be a place where they would have to fight for what God was giving them, but God promises that He would be with them.

God told them to be strong and to have courage. God assured them that He would be right there with them. As we go through our Christian life, we can be strong and have courage because God is always right there by our side. God will never leave us. God will never forsake us. God will never fail us. He is dependable and we can rely on him to be there whenever we need him. It’s incredible to think that the God and Creator of this universe is going to be right by me all the time. We aren’t anything special. We are just dust, but God desires to be with us to guide, strengthen, and help us. Christian, be strong today. Have courage. Don’t fear. God is right there with you to help you no matter what life throws at you.
