Deuteronomy 30:20, “That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
I love that phrase, “For he is thy life.” It got me thinking, what is MY life all about. I understand that God has a purpose for me. I’m not talking about it from that angle. I started thinking, “What am I living for?”
So many people in this life love for themselves. It’s all about how much fun they can have and what they can get out of life. It ought to be the opposite. We ought to live our life for others. Life is all about people. Yes, we should live our life to serve the Lord, but serving the Lord is all about people. What are you living for today? Are you living for yourself or are you living for the Lord by living for others?
