Joshua 14:8, “Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.”
Caleb is speaking in this verse. He is speaking of the time where he and 11 others went out to spy the Promised land. There were 10 spies that brought back an evil report, but Caleb and Joshua brought back a good report. It wasn’t a good report because of what they saw. It was a good report because of what God has promised. Caleb said that the evil report of the spies caused the hearts of the people to melt, but it didn’t affect Caleb’s heart. He knew what God had said. He knew that God would give them the victory because he wholly followed the Lord.
Do we wholly follow the Lord? Is God able to give us victories in our life or are we doubting Him? We can experience victories if like Caleb if we will wholly follow the Lord. Let’s not hold back. Let’s do our best to wholly follow the Lord.
