2 Kings 10:16, “And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord. So they made him ride in his chariot.”
I want to focus on the phrase, “See my zeal for the Lord.” The word zeal is defined as, “Great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective.” Our zeal for the Lord would be, “Our energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of the cause of Christ.”
How is our energy in serving the Lord? Is our attitude that we HAVE to serve the Lord or is it that we GET to serve the Lord? Many people today serve with a half-hearted effort. They think they are helping the cause of Christ, which they are, but they are also hindering what it could be if they had the proper zeal.
It’s a short post today. However, it’s a good thought for our everyday Christian life, but especially on Sunday! Let’s be enthusiastic about serving the Lord! Let’s have the proper zeal today!
