1 Chronicles 17:24, “[24] Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.”
This is a passage that tells about David coming before God and talking with Him. David was telling God to establish His Word and His promises so that His name would be magnified. What a great thought. David lived in such a way that he wanted to magnify the name of the Lord.
The word magnify means, “To increase the importance of or to glorify.” As Christians, we ought to live our life in such a way that we strive to magnify and glorify God.
Revelation 4:11 states, “[11] Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” We were created to bring glory and honor to God, and He is certainly worth of it. How are we doing with that today? Are we striving to magnify the Lord? Are we trying to bring glory and honor to God. Remember that that is why we are here. Let us focus today on magnifying the Lord.
