1 Chronicles 28:20, “[20] And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it : fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.”
This is an encouraging verse taken from a passage where David is encouraging his son, Solomon, regarding the building of the temple. He makes the statement, “He (God) will not fail thee nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work.” It’s a great thing to know that God is always with us, and that He will never forsake us.
Just like God had a work prepared for Solomon (building the temple), God has a work prepared for us as well. God has a plan for each and every person that has ever and will ever exist. If we seek to fulfill that plan, we can trust that God will be us and never forsake us. Philippians 1:6 says, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
God has a plan for each and every one of us, but it is our job to do it. If we do our part in doing God’s will, God will do His part in never leaving us, never forsaking us, and continuing His work in us until it is finished. Let us focus today on fulfilling the work that God has for us.
