2 Chronicles 9:7-8a, “[7] Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom. [8] Blessed be the Lord thy God…”
This passage of Scripture tells about when the Queen of Sheba came to visit Solomon. She was just in awe of the beauty of everything, and she was amazed at Solomon’s wisdom. One thing that the Bible states that she commented on was the spirit of Solomon’s servants. She pointed out how happy they were. They were servants of the king. Why shouldn’t they have been happy?
This is a good reminder of how we should be today. Although we are not servants of an earthly king, we are servants of a Heavenly King. As servants of our God, we ought to be happy like Solomon’s servants were. Im fact, the happiness of Solomon’s servants should not even compare to our joy and happiness in serving the Lord. As we go about our day today, let us remember Who it is we serve. Let us allow the joy of serving Jesus to be seen on the outside. If Solomon’s servants were happy while serving an earthly king, how much more happy we should be while serving a Heavenly King. Let us serve the Lord with joy!
