Unto Thee, O God, Do We Give Thanks

Psalm 75:1, “Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.”

Today’s post goes along with yesterday’s post on praise. Today’s verse talks about thankfulness. We have a lot to be thankful for, but in the business of life, we can often forget to express it.

It’s been asked that what if we woke up today with only what we thanked God for yesterday? I think many of us would be ashamed at what we would have left.

Forbes did an article about the benefits of thankfulness. The first thing on their list is that it opens the door to more relationships. This is true in the world, but it is so true in our relationship with God as well. What better way to strengthen your relationship with God than to spend time giving Him thanks.

Thankfulness should not be just a moment, but we should always have the mindset of thankfulness. We have so much to be thankful for that there aren’t enough words to express it. That being said, that does not mean we shouldn’t express them. God has blessed us so much, and we ought to thank Him for it. Let us stop for a moment today and thank God for the many blessings He has given us.
