Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
In a world that is filled with constant change, it is good to know that we have a resting place. We can rest and trust in the word of God because as the verse says, God’s Word will stand forever. God’s Word was true 2,000 years ago, it is true today, and it will still be true 2,000 years from now.
It would be foolish of us to have access to the Word of God, but not to follow it and live our life by it. It is so vital in our lives that we live by God’s Word. Though the world, trends, fashions, etc. seem to change daily, God’s Word never changes. What was right years ago is still what is right today.
We do not know everything there is to know about life. However, everything that God wanted us to know is provided in His Word. He has blessed us enough to have easy access to it to know how we ought to live. It is up to us to act on it though. Owning a Bible does not make us spiritual. We must take the information and live by it.
Let us make it our goal that we will heed the information within God’s Word. Let us realize that following the Bible is the way to live a life that is pleasing to God. God’s Word will stand forever, and we are blessed enough to have it. Let us not take it for granted.
