Jeremiah 42:2-3, “[2] And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the Lord thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:) [3] That the Lord thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.”
In this chapter, the children of Israel came to Jeremiah to tell him to go to Lord on their behalf. In this time, only the prophets and priests could go to God. That is not the case now as anyone can go to the Lord at anytime.
The people wanted Jeremiah to get direction from the Lord as to how they should live their life. We see this in verse 3 as it says, “That the Lord thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk.”
We should have the same mindset in our lives. We should go before God to seek direction from Him how we are to live our life. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:6, In all thy ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” If we will truly see God in every situation in our lives, God will direct us. It is up to us to see him. Let us determine today that we will seek the Lord in our lives and allow Him to direct us.
