Seek Good and Not Evil

Amos 5:14-15, “[14] Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. [15] Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.”

These verses are good reminders to have in our lives. As the end of 2019 approaches, a goal that I have for 2020 is to seek good and not evil.

Inside the life of every Christian is a battle between the flesh and the Spirit. It is up to us as to which side will win the battle. It is an every day battle that we must face, and whichever side we feed the most is the side that will win. Not only do I want to feed the Spirit every day, but I also want to starve the flesh.

The ultimate goal is to be like Christ and feeding the Spirit is a step in that direction. Let us determine that we will seek good and not evil in our life. Let us strive to hate evil and love good. Let us feed the Spirit instead of the flesh in every situation that presents itself. Let us do our best to be the best Christian that we can be each and every day.
