Cast in All the Living that She Had

Luke 21:1-4, “[1] And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. [2] And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. [3] And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: [4] For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.”

What a great passage of Scripture about a widow whose name we do not even know. She didn’t have much to give, but she gave all she had.

This should be a great reminder to us. It doesn’t matter how much we have. We ought to give it all to the Lord. I feel that too many people make excuses for what they don’t have to give to God that they don’t give what they do have. It doesn’t matter if we can’t preach, sing, teach, play instruments, etc. better than someone else. Every single person has something they can give to God.

The list of things we don’t have to give to God should not keep us from giving the list of things we do have to God no matter how long or short the list may be. The challenge today is to give everything to God. What may seem small to you could be greatly used of God. There’s nothing we can give to God that would be too small for Him to use.
