Leviticus 20:23-24, “And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God, which have separated you from other people.
These verses are instructions that God is giving to the children of Israel. God drove their enemies out of their land. The instruction was not to live in the sin that their enemies that God drove out lived in. God had separated His people unto Him, and God was prepared to bless them if they obeyed.
If we are a child of God, God has delivered us from sin and wickedness. We should not go back and live there. It would be like a slap in the face to God if we were turn back to sin after He has saved us from it. He has separated us to Himself, and we should live a separated life. My pastor often says, “Separation is not about what you give up. It’s about what you gain, and that is fellowship with God.” This statement is so true.
Let us determine that we will not turn to sin. Let us strive today to live a separated and holy life. God has delivered us, and He wants to bless us. We have the easy part of simply obeying Him.
