Ye Rebelled

Numbers 27:12,14, “And the Lord said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

Here is the moment that Moses has to face the consequences for the decision he had made. The decision to hit the rock instead of speaking to it. God told Moses that his punishment would be that he would not be able to go to the promised land because of his disobedience.

The passage above said that Moses rebelled against God’s commandment. Rebellion is openly defying authority. Because of Moses’ rebellion, he was not able to go into the promised land. His rebellion kept him from reaping the blessings of God. Is there something in your life that you are rebelling against? If you know you ought to do something and you aren’t doing it, that is rebellion. Rebellion will only keep you from experiencing the blessings of God. Don’t rebel against God. It will only keep you from experiencing God’s blessing in your life.
