Psalm 34:15, “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.”
Psalm 34 is filled with great and powerful truths! The one I want to focus on today is from this verse. The last phrase of the verse says, “…his (God’s) ears are open unto their (the righteous) cry.”
God’s ears are open are ready to listen to the prayers of the righteous. Does God hear our prayers? Many will say, yes because God hears everyone’s prayer, but that is not the case. Psalm 66:18 states, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” If we are allowing known sin to stay in our lives, God will not hear us. However, if we are living righteously, the first verse above says that God’s ears are open to our cry.
Based on the above criteria, does God hear your prayers? Are we living righteously which allows God to hear our prayers or are we regarding Iniquity in our heart? Get rid of the sin in your life and enjoy fellowship with God in your life. No temporary pleasure that sin brings can compare to the lasting peace and joy that fellowship with God will bring.
